We are opening up in Port Erin – April 2012!
Owner Ian Davison said he hoped to open the doors of the new premises – at the bottom of Strand Road – by the end of this month.
‘It’s in our interests to open there so people know exactly who they are buying,’ he said, before suggesting that people buy ice cream in the island and assume it was made by Davison’s, which was not necessarily the case.
Davison’s Ice Cream is already sold in Port Erin – at Breagle Glen, The Bohemian and Cafe Delicious – but this will be the first dedicated premises the ice cream manufacturer has had in the village for nine years.
Davison’s used to own the ice cream parlour that became Roberto’s and it continued to supply that shop with ice cream until 18 month ago.
Davison’s plans to sell 24 varieties of ice cream (out of a possible 32) in Port Erin, plus ice lollies, tea and coffee.
The shop plans to sell ice cream, premium quality Illy’s coffee and food such as sandwiches and cakes. They also intend to be open seven days a week during both summer and winter.
